Printing Needs
After striking a deal with our original printer that allowed us to print 1000 newsletters in exchange for advertising, HANN is once again looking for a local printer to take us up on this opportunity. The original printer was located in Orange County, which made things difficult because of shipping times (and costs). The owner is a friend of the family and I thank him very much for helping make the first issue of HANN a reality.
Sadly, until we can find a local printer that offers a similar deal, we will only be publishing HANN online, but I believe a new deal will be struck in the next couple of weeks. We are in talks with three local printers, so hopefully one of them will find the joint venture a bargain for their needs as well as our own.
Keep an eye out here for future news on this developing story. If you have any advice or know of a local printer that is willing to print in exchange for advertising, please let us know and w’ll be sure to find a way to thank you.

Well, the first issue of HANN has hit the streets and has been pretty well received by business owners and readers alike. If you are looking for a hard copy, you can find one at the SLO Public Library, the SLO Visitors Center/Chamber of Commerce, in the Cal Poly U.U., The Hemp Shak, Linnaea’s Cafe, Louisa’s Place and Sunset North Car Wash. In time you will be able to find future issues at even more great independent businesses downtown.
I wanted to thank all those who took part in this inaugural issue, from writing opinions and voting in polls to just supporting us through this hectic opening act. Here And Now News relies on community generated content, so if you have an idea, a rant, a picture, a comic or a contest idea, please let us know and we will do our best to incorporate them into upcoming editions.
Thanks again SLO, we hope you enjoy the newsletter.
It’s been a terribly busy Holiday season and things are just now getting back to normal. That’s good and bad news. It’s bad because normal is boring and we want excitement around here. It’s good however, because that means we have the time needed to get things finished up for the launch of the Here And Now Newsletter.
Our first edition will have 1000 copies and be distributed to 5-10 downtown establishments, mostly dining facilities so you can enjoy our brand spanking new publication with your lunch or dinner. We are currently seeking sponsors and advertisers, so if you own a small business downtown, please contact us immediately to get the best prices you’ll ever see for our advertisement opportunities.
We’re also (always) on the look out for talented writers and cartoonists that we can feature in the hallowed pages of the HANN print version. Each week we will feature one local editorial concerning whatever issue you choose, as long as it concerns downtown in some way, and one square cartoon, which can be about anything you like as long as it is appropriate for younger audiences as well as our more mature readers.
There is no specific date for the launch, but keep your eyes peeled for blast off taking place sometime in early February. “The HANN Show” will follow the newsletter launch and should be ready for your viewing pleasure hopefully by the end of February. It’s a short month, but hopefully the extra 24 hours for Leap Day will be enough time to get everything ready.
See you soon, and thanks again for all those who have offered their support and contributions. Every little bit helps and it’s much appreciated.

Thank you in advance to everyone that uploads pictures and adds them to the Here And Now News Flickr Stream. While there is only one rule (keep pictures PG-13…remember we have underage readers, too), there are a few things you can do to make the experience better for everyone.
- Tag your pictures so those viewing pictures can find the ones they want quickly and easily
- Leave a caption for the title of the picture. We are looking for humor here, so give it your best
- Encourage your friends to leave captions in the comments area of your pictures. The more captions your picture has, the better chance it has for being featured on our front page
- All pictures will rotate along the footer, so make sure yuo want your pictures to be public if you upload them. They are going to be seen
- Feel free to add your favorites in the profile section, but again, please no profanity. This account is open for everyone’s entertainment so please don’t make things difficult for everyone else
